This summit is to Celebrate America’s Re-entry into the Paris Agreement February 19 kicks-off our Global Engagement Summit, and also marks the date the United States will officially rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement, a historic multilateral effort to reduce global emissions and combat the harmful effects of climate change.
They are excited to be joined by U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John F. Kerry and UN Secretary-General António Guterres in celebrating this important moment. February 19 is the day when the U.S. recommits to bold climate action, joining forces with hundreds of other nations representing the majority of the global population, and it’s all happening live with UNA-USA! Special Envoy Kerry and Secretary-General Guterres will discuss the significance of America’s role in preserving a habitable planet and answer questions from Americans in UNA-USA’s network in a special opening program moderated by UN Foundation President and CEO Elizabeth Cousens.
Outside of the exciting plenary sessions, the Summit will feature three tracks: Inspire, Educate, and Mobilize, which are key tenets from UNA-USA’s mission. Please note that you are not limited to participate in only sessions within one track, but can hop around as desired since all sessions will be available on demand and can be viewed at a later time.
